A Nursery in the Making

I can't believe it's been almost 5 months since my last post. My apologies for those who might actually stop by to read our blog. I don't have a lot of time for updates, but I thought I would post a few pictures.

First, here is the lastest picture of our sweet daughter, Adalyn. This is from 27 weeks:

During Christmas break, my mom came down and helped me to work on her nursery. I still have a little ways to go, but we did manage to get a verse on the wall above her crib (which is the only piece of furniture in her room at the moment)...

Mom got a Cricut for Christmas, which we used to cut out vinyl letters to put on the wall. It took about 6 hours... a long but project, but the results were more than I expected! You can't tell in the picture (sorry for the quality... it's a mobile upload), but the wall color is a much brighter green.

I also managed to get the outline of the tree painted on the opposite wall. It matches her bedding. I still have a lot of filling in and detail work to do, but at 33 weeks preggo.. this took most of my energy:

Mom and I also used her new Cricut to cut out critters for the tree. These are made out of card stock and are 3-D which you can't tell in the pictures. I'm absolutely in love with these:

Once I finish painting the tree and get the critters in their new home (and get the rest of the furniture in), I'll post the end results. I'll take pictures with an actual camera next time so hopefully the colors will be more accurate.

Only about 6 more weeks until Addy gets here! I hope she loves her room!

  1. You should, if & when you have the time, post a DIY on the lettering from the cricut to the wall. Everything looks SO gorgeous! What are the names of the cartridges ya'll used?

  2. That's a great idea.... Mom and I had a lot of trial and error with this... a bit frustrating at times, but went pretty smooth after we got the hang of it. We used the Basic font for all of the letters except for "loved" and "jeremiah".. those were Jasmine. The critters were the Create A Critter cartridge.. it's phenomenal. Mom is making a cute little purple skunk to go at the base of the tree :).

  3. Everything looks great!!!! It's amazing that the cricut can accomplish what your imagination can think up. I'm so excited for you and Ronnie. We so enjoy you guys at Christmas.
